Devotional Thoughts

The Christmas season is a time of praise and thanksgiving for the incarnation of God in Jesus Christ. This second season of the Christian year begins Christmas eve or Christmas Day and continues through the Day of Epiphany. It is about 8 days long.

The name for the season comes from the name of the first worship service, called the Christ mass. The second or last Sunday of the season, called the Day of Epiphany, means manifestation. Signs of the season include a Chrismon tree, a nativity scene, a Christmas star, angels, poinsettias and roses.
