Prayer as a Request for Joy

In Philippians chapter one verses 2-7, Paul prays that the Philippians may abound more and more in love. Without love, your heart can never pray or praise effectively. Love for, as well as, the love of Christ enriches your life, according to Paul. This was because Paul viewed Christ as highly exalted and his prayers in Philippians demonstrate this belief.

Do not be anxious

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Jesus Christ.
Philippians 4:6-7

Being anxious or worried will not change anything. You need to decide what you can do to deal with the problem or situation and trust in God to take care of those things over which you have no control.

This is something you have to learn on your own. It must be experienced.
