Devotional Thoughts

There are limits to what wisdom can explain. Wisdom can not explain or predict the outcome of our actions or God's actions. People can not know the future, except for the reality of death. (chapter 9:1-3). The author goes on to contrast wisdom with folly or foolishness. However in the Hebrew understanding of the word foolishness, it means one who denies divine revelation. The author also makes clear both the wise and the foolish will all die. (chapter 2: 15)
