Being called by God — Ezekiel

In 597 BCE Ezekiel and his wife entered into Babylonian exile. It was five years later the call came to Ezekiel by the river Chebar, a tributary of the Euphrates river, in Southeast Babylon. He was overwhelmed by the experience and remained in a stupor for 7 days (Ezekiel 3:15). Ezekiel was not called to announce destruction but to be a sentinel, to interpret changing circumstance from 587 until 571 BCE. His job was to comfort, warn and observe.

While I am still struggling with the visions of Ezekiel being complex and symbolic. There is no denying the call of Ezekiel.
