Vacation Bible School — 2016
The 2016 Vacation Bible School at the Paoli United Methodist Church ran June 20th through 22nd, 6:00—7:30 PM each evening. Abby Newkirk says:
We had so much fun last year that I decided to take the lead this year for the 2016 Vacation Bible School at PUMC. Because of the success that we had last June, I wanted to reach out to you (and your children-for those that have tweens/teens willing to help) to see if you would have any interest in volunteering to help run it with the team that I'm putting together.
My thoughts right now are staying true to the "old school" format with music (I kept the music packets from last year...and will make more!) and playing up a Superhero theme with the "Bible verse" and craft portion of this 3 night VBS. I am picturing singing/dancing, crafting, playing games/physical activity, eating a meal, and worshiping all TOGETHER in one large group (rather than splitting up the kids into smaller groups) just like we did in 2015. Of course, it's still early in the game. I'll be sending out communication (via e-mail/text/whatever is easiest ) in the next few weeks about more specific details as they become solid.
I have had brief conversations with Daria Hall and Katie Kumpf and I'm anticipating that several other interested volunteers will commit. I plan to contact a few more as I'm in the beginning stages of putting this fun & memorable time for kids and adults together. You don't know how much I appreciate your consideration and commitment to come and be a part of VBS!
Last year, we had so many amazing volunteers! We had many that were able to commit all 3 evenings and then some that could give one or two nights of their time. Others made monetary donations to help with the cost of the meals and materials used for crafts and recreation activities. Thank you all!
First night of VBS 2016 was fantastic! Great food. The best volunteers. Awesome kids. Praising Him for every little bit of it!
Day 2 of VBS included a delicious dinner of hot dogs and macaroni & cheese, a Superhero song with dance moves, more mod podge of Bible verses on canvas, and a fun game of Superhero kickball!
Shout outs to ALL who helped...couldn't do it
without awesome volunteers!
